Stitching Hope: TAGA Graduates Over 15 Young Women in Tailoring Skills

Lira City, Uganda — In a moment filled with pride, joy, and promise, Trust A Girl Africa (TAGA) celebrated a powerful milestone at its offices this week: the graduation of over 15 girls and young women from across the Lango sub-region, each of them now equipped with certified tailoring skills and ready to start their journey of self-reliance.

We feel so blessed to have been able to help sponsor & support Prisca and her family for many years . We love getting all the updates from Ben including photos of Prisca . It makes our hearts feel brighter knowing we are making a difference to others. We are so grateful to Ben for all the work he does at TAGA. He is amazing! 🤩🌟✨💫

I would say, “We met Ben nearly 10 years ago, and have been happy to support him and TAGA. We are very happy to play a small part in an initiative that is doing such good work on behalf of women and girls in Uganda

When I met Ben in his high school in 2010, I sensed a young man with talents, values and ambitions. He needed support and I was honored to help. Ben is a role model and a life changer. TAGA is one of his crowing achievements and I invite others to join in support of his life changing work

I belong to Rotary because helping the less fortunate brings great joy and through Rotary, I can help so many more. You inspire me Ben because you have little but you also are a Rotarian that works hard to help others less fortunate in your country. I love you son.

I first met Oulanyah Ben Boniface at Longo Boys College, he was an inspirational leader amongst his fellow students. After graduation, organized and ran a mosquito net distribution for the boys at Longo College. Few had decent nets to sleep under and Malaria caused huge challenges to passing exams. Ben researched the best treated nets to purchase; he packed 1000 nets and got them to Lira for the boys. Each student was handed a net and Ben spoke to the entire student body about the importance of sleeping under a treated net.

Ben has continued to inspire others over the many years I have known him. He strives to make communities healthier. TAGA offers hope to young girls who have dropped out of school, or became child mothers, with no skills or resources to make a life for themselves. TAGA gathers funding and offers skill trainings with a plan to generate revenue for sustainability. TAGA helps lift young women out of poverty and abuse. Ben is honest, hard-working and compassionate. I am blessed to know him!
